Jacob earned his Masters in Professional Counseling in the summer of 2017. He has been working in the counseling field since 2016. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor intern and is expected to be licensed as a Professional Counselor by September 2019.
Jacob has worked at ChangePoint Counseling for 3 years, primarily working with adolescents, but has experience with every age range. He has experience with marriage counseling, substance abuse counseling, play therapy with children, and many others as well.
Jacob believes that every person has the potential to become the best version of themselves with hard, and the right support system. A counselors role in someone's life is one who believes in their potential to continue growing, to be a supportive ear, and to offer alternative ways of thinking in order to combat negative situations and thinking patterns.
Jacob is currently working a an administrator of BasePoint Academy, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) specifically for teenagers. This program offers daily group therapy for teenagers currently struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addictions, as well as many other struggles.
